Working with Flux 3.
FLUX.3 is Black Forest Labs stepping out of stills and into video. Four variants cover text-to-video, single-image-to-video, a timestamped keyframe mode that generates motion between multiple frames for precise camera and timing control, and a continuation mode that extends an existing clip while preserving its scene and style.
When to choose Flux 3
Choose Flux 3 when you want Black Forest Labs' aesthetic in motion, or when you need keyframe-level timing control. Every other Flux family on each::labs generates or edits stills only.
Choosing between the variants
Text to Video builds a shot from a prompt and Image to Video animates a frame. Image to Video Timestamped is the one for precise control over camera movement and timing across several keyframes, and Video Continuation lengthens footage you already have.
Questions about Flux 3
The short answers. For anything specific to your setup, talk to our team.
It generates motion between multiple keyframes, so camera movement, timing and scene beats are directed rather than left to the model.
Yes. Video Continuation carries on from existing footage with coherent motion while preserving the original scene, style and visual consistency.
It is the same house — Black Forest Labs — but a different modality. The Flux 2, Kontext and Dev families remain the image side.
